picnic sites

Picnics in the park are a popular pastime at Rockwood. Choose from two large BBQ picnic sites or simply pack the cooler and a blanket for a more secluded spot next to one of our thirteen lakes. Event organizers planning to use the First Arch or A-Frame picnic sites are asked to reserve ahead of time to secure the space. The availability of the sites and size of gatherings will depend on Public Health guidelines.

First Arch Picnic Site

  • Charcoal BBQ (bring your own charcoal)
  • Close proximity to a parking lot
  • 5 picnic tables
  • Small open shelter
  • Accommodates up to 50 people

a-frame picnic site

  • ​2 Charcoal BBQs (bring your own charcoal)
  • Close proximity to the playground and the beach
  • 10 picnic tables
  • Accommodates up to 300 people
